Green Corps
The Green Corps, for college and high school students, is a way to make a difference in your environment and community, learn about exciting careers, and take part in adventure programs.

Joining the Green Corps is a great opportunity for youth to become involved in the community and bring about a positive change to the City of Newport News and surrounding areas while learning what it means to be green.
- The Green Corps is comprised of college and high school students, ages 14-21.
- Membership in the Green Corps is free and open to all students in the above grade levels, and enrollment is open throughout the year.
- Green Corps members have the opportunity to become involved in three primary areas:
- Community Service and Activity
- Involvement in making a difference in the community
- Help with planning and leading service projects
- Experiencing outdoor activities and developing leadership skills
- Environmental Education
- Teaching young children
- Development of educational exhibits
- Project involvement
- Career Opportunities
- Experience careers first-hand related to the environment, ecology, conservation, and more
- Event planning and Coordination
- Internships
- Website, Media, Community Relations, and Office Management
- Community Service and Activity
