A volunteer Board of Directors of fifteen members governs the Green Foundation, and its planning and efforts are managed by an Executive Director. The Board of Directors is comprised as follows:
- Three citizens from each of the City’s three voting districts
- Three members from business and industry
- A representative of the Industrial Development Authority
- The City Manager or designee
- The City’s Director of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism or designee
Members of the Board are wholly responsible for Board appointments, serve terms of three years, and may be reappointed.
The Board has established numerous ways to enable and encourage citizens to become involved in the efforts of the Green Foundation to help make Newport News a better place to live, work, and play.
